Reflections of the Body Acting Exercise

I found this exercise quite hard. nevertheless, I’ve still done it thankfully. However, I think it’d be easier to understand what exactly I found hard to do, in order to focus on that more in future projects. Here’s what was difficult for me to do:
- Simultaneously focusing on the body movement and animation principles.
- Keeping the body structure the same throughout all the frames.
- Animating different designs other than the bean body.
While writing, I thought about some solutions to these difficulties.
- Planning what to focus on during animation could help.
- Having a guide layer for the design to always go back to.
- Just practice more body shapes!
Here are the things that I learned during the exercise:
- The sudden force of action causes the body to overshoot. (a.k.a Physics haha!)
- Not every part of the body moves together, there’s always delay.
- Be mindful of the body pose in order to create an interesting and understandable silhouette.
